An eSIM is a SIM function built directly into the smartphone.
There is no need to swap out a standard physical SIM card; instead, you can add a mobile plan simply by scanning a QR code.
For international eSIMs, you scan the QR code either before traveling or after arriving at your destination to use local data services.
